Spring - The other side of the coin

Nature heralds the advent of spring, a time which symbolizes freshness and renewal and more than this, it represents spontaneity. Although the poetic discourse of honouring the seasonal madness has a long tradition, the other side of the coin is not at all a metaphorical comparison to the pleasant fragrance, suggesting renewal and hope. Instead, examples are abundant where spring greets people with a state of utter dejection and a sense of melancholy pervading all aspects of life.

The gentle breeze that once stirred new blossoms now stirs the past. The illusion began with allowing holding hand. It was misunderstood as the beginning of a new hope to someone who was reasonably immature about the playful side of emotions and completely unaware of the hypocritical lifestyle of a section of people where boastful display, iniquitous ambitions, illicit relationships, endless humblebragging, fakeness and toying with emotions are reflections of one's worth. As an outcome, the words that once said 'I will always take care of you' ended up with 'take care' and the reiteration of 'what will happen to me without you?' ended in smoke, showing that nothing happens! Once the emptiness in the evening used to get reinvigorated with a 'waiting for you...' text. With the season turning its pages, the wait is over for one or, to rephrase, the wait is endless for the other. The content of togetherness with the whispered promises in the evenings that once seemed like the basking in apricity now resembles fallen petals scattered randomly, symbolizing remnants of something that should have lasted. The assiduous effort of holding on against all odds went unrecognised just as the beauty of flowers, fallen and strewn here and there, goes unrecognised. The situation of silence when someone could understand everything without any words is gradually changed to a new situation of silence when someone could not understand anything through words. The trepidation turns into a reality with the lapse of time. The promise of belonging to someone only that developed an unshaken trust faded into oblivion.

Can spring heal the wounds the way the wounds are inflicted? Can spring bring in hope when two hearts, once close together, become strangers with poignant memories? The betrayal lingers in the mind, not in the absence but in the "empathy of intoxication". Can spring elucidate this feeling of being abandoned? The deception lies in the realization that trust, care, concern, faith and loyalty gave way to disillusion. Can spring revive these psycological devastations? No, perhaps not. The spring can never justify the poetic paradoxes. Can spring compensate for the damage when the spontaneity of someone is killed intentionally in a planned and calculated manner? Yet, spring is a season of spontaneity!!  Spring is quite silent about the pure and genuine feelings that get disillusioned with breadcrumbing. Hey spring, have you ever thought of the trauma that leaves a lasting burden of memory?

Glorifying spring is rather a seasonal insanity or a romantic imagination which does not present the musings of someone who is quite bad at figuring the profit and loss. Hey spring, will you still talk about a fresh start to a shattered soul?

May be one day, the retrospection will make you realize the damage of torture and the agony of being benched. You will understand why do actions speak louder than words. A day may come when the words will echo in your own feelings and your actions will whisper in your ears what those were. Poetic justice will find its own way when the poignant farewell will turn into eremition with the passing of springs. Hey spring, will you still promise a ray of hope?
